The survey editor is a friendly and easy to use tool that allows you to add new questions, copy questions, edit existing questions, or reorder questions by moving individual questions up or down within the questionnaire.
The builder/editor
page will appear as shown below. From the builder page, surveys can be
copied from the Survey Library (The Red Tab) or custom questions can be
added one at a time with the "Add a Question" drop down box.
Once questions are copied or entered into the builder, the
editing icons are used to edit, delete, copy, or move the questions up or
down for reordering.
The survey editor uses the same set of wizards when building a custom question
or when editing a question already in the survey. The wizards are an easy
two step set of forms for specifying the question dimensions (number of
questions, answers and details) and entering the text of each question and
answer. Easy to understand examples are given with each wizard.
Branching
For more advanced surveys, branching
is available. The branching editor is found at the bottom of the questionnaire.
Branching is added only after the survey building is complete. Branching
uses a unique set of rules to point from any answer to any question further
down the question path. That is, you can't branch backward, but only to
questions further down the survey. The branching setup page shows a drop down
box next to each answer for each question. This drop-down box is used to
select the destination of the branch. It is a simple as pull-down and select!
In the following example, the second and third options of question 1 are
set to branch to question 3. The second option has been set and the third
is now being set by pulling down the menu bar and highlighting question
3, "How many credit card....". When branching instructions for a question
are complete, simply click on the "Update This Question" bar.
